Exciting New Plans Afoot

I was lucky enough to go to H+H in Cologne earlier this month. It's the biggest trade fair for fibre related crafts in Europe; I was blown away by the size of the show and the number of vendors offering yarns that I've only ever dreamt of. The trip has made me reevaluate my business and the yarns I carry. Deciding what yarns to stock is quite a big responsibility, for those who don't already know I run Tangled Yarn on my own, so decisions on what yarns to offer are down to me.

When I first started the business, I had idealistic ideas that I would only stock indie dyers and perhaps a few mainstream brands. After a few months, I soon realised this wasn't going to work so early on in my business as I was faced with cash flow issues, time constraints as I was dependent on dyers schedules. 

This lead me to stock more of what I call the regular stuff, and while they are all very lovely knitting yarns, it left me feeling a little unfulfilled because I'd set out with different ideas and intentions for my business. Six years on and with a bit more experience under my belt and a lot of loyal customers I'm now ready to make some changes to the Tangled Yarn shelves. I plan to add smaller yarn producers and more indie dyers. Already this year we have seen the addition of Martin's Lab and indie dyer from Poland who produces some amazing hand-dyed yarns; you can expect to see an update from Martin's Lab later this month. 

You'll see that all Debbie Bliss yarns are now reduced to clear this gives me the opportunity to stock more indie dyers and yarns from smaller producers. So keep watching this space I for one am excited about my plans and can't wait to share more with you as new things start to arrive!
