    Sunday 27th March 2022 9 am - 11 am BST / 4 pm - 6 pm AUS (2 hours)

    • Reading a chart
    • working with multiple yarns at the same time
    • intarsia
    • working Fair Isle flat

    What is the required skill level?

    Advanced beginner/intermediate knitter
    Students should have a knowledge of how to knit, purl, cast on and off. It is helpful to have some basic experience with Fair Isle knitting.

    Materials needed but not included with this course:

    • 2 colours of any weight of yarn with the appropriate needle size to practice the intarsia technique.
    • 5 colours of fingering weight yarn with the appropriate needle size to work the colourwork chart, Scout Shawl uses 3.5mm (US4)
    • yarn bobbins, not essential but you may find them helpful
    • scissors

    About Florence Spurling:

    Florence Spurling is a knitwear designer who specialises in handcrafted and embellished textiles. Florence obtained a Masters in textile design from the Royal College of Art, London, before moving to New York in 2013 to further her design career.

    She designs under her brand Florence Spurling Studio with knitted textiles, embroidery, and embellishment. Knit, crochet, beading, embroidery and fabric manipulation are continuously developed in the studio’s unique aesthetic to produce seasonal collections that are feminine, highly tactile, innovative and very decorative.
